I love having plants around the house, but I seem to get bugs on my indoor plants. Aphids are common on indoor and outdoor plants. These sap-sucking insects are often found feeding in clusters on new growth. In small quantities, these pests won't harm your plants. However, heavy infestations will cause leaves to curl, wilt or yellow and stunt plant growth. A general decline in overall plant vigor will also be noticed.
Would you like an easy way to get rid of these pests? And wouldn't it be great to know that what you're spraying isn't toxic?! Here's an easy spray to make:
Small squirt mild dish soap
3/4 teaspoon cooking oil
2 drops Peppermint
2 drops Wild Orange
3 drops Lavender
Combine all ingredients in a 16 ounce glass spray bottle. Top off with water. Shake well before use. Spray on plants as needed.
