Chai Spiced Creamer

My favorite part of my morning routine is when I get to sit on the sofa, with the dog, and enjoy my first cup of coffee. As the seasons change, I love to change up my coffee creamer - this time of year gravitates towards the warming spices. I created this combination over the weekend...


1 cup heavy cream

1/2 cup sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 teaspoon nutmeg

1 drop Ginger essential oil

2 drops Cassia essential oil

1 drop Clove essential oil

1 drop Cardamom essential oil

1-2 drops Black Pepper essential oil


In a small saucepan combine cream, sugar, vanilla and nutmeg. Stir to dissolve sugar. Stirring frequently, bring to a simmer and allow to bubble for 1 minute. Cover with a lid; allow to cool for 1 hour. Stir in essential oils. Store in a lidded jar.


Options: Use milk of preference - just know that it may not turn out as thick and creamy. Use sweetener of choice- I’ve used 1/4 cup maple syrup and it turned out quite tasty.
