Lavender is one of my "must haves" in my natural pharmacy. It helps with so many different issues! But, did you know that Lavender is one of the most adulterated essential oils on the market?!!

The FDA only requires that an essential oil bottle be 10% pure essential oil. This allows all kinds of labels to go on the bottle...."100% Pure", "Organic", etc. What this means is that the remaining 90% of the bottle could be filled with anything - a lesser grade essential oil, carrier oils, synthetics, toxins, chemicals - and it doesn't have to be mentioned! If you're buying a bottle of Lavender, and it says "not for topical use" you want to be really careful. As one of the top skin oils, it would be very concerning to me if I couldn't put it on my skin! Given that, I wouldn't even be comfortable diffusing it since i have no idea what else is in the bottle.

When the founders created doTERRA, they were well aware of this gray area and wanted to find a way to improve the quality of essential oils sold. So, they created CPTG (certified pure therapeutic grade) essential oils. When you see this mark on a bottle, you know that there have been at least 8 tests performed on the essential oil - to prove that it is completely pure, that you're getting what you expect, and that there isn't any kind of adulteration. They also send the oils to a third-party testing lab. The results of these tests are available to everyone, at Source to You. Simply enter the lot number listed on the bottom of your essential oil bottle, and you will see the full report on that particular lot.

Please be aware of what you're buying...and what you're bringing into contact with your body. I am happy to answer any questions or concerns that you have on this subject.
